Delivery

  1. What is your delivery policy and what are the associated costs?
    Local deliveries are $79.95 for purchases under $1000.00 and $149.95 for purchases greater than $1000.00. Local deliveries are within a 10 mile radius of any showroom.
  2. What is the Express Delivery Policy?
    All in stock items are available for delivery within a few days if delivery is to our local delivery area. See store for details.
  3. What is your delivery area?
    Our regular delivery area includes all of Central Maryland. Gardiners also makes occasional deliveries to areas such as Western Maryland, the Eastern Shore, Northern Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania for an additional delivery charge based upon the distance.
  4. What are the benefits of having my furniture delivered?
    If you have your furniture delivered, it is assembled, placed in your home, and the in home service policy applies (see service policy). If you choose to pick up your furniture, it remains in the box that it was received in from the manufacturer and you waive the in home service policy (see service policy).
  5. Will Gardiners pick up my old mattress when they deliver a new one?
    Yes. After you purchase your mattress, when you schedule the delivery, mention that you will be having your old matress removed and they will remove your old one when they bring your new one.
  6. Will you set up my furniture?
    Absolutely. Furniture set up is a part of your delivery service.

  1. What type of payments are accepted?
    Cash, check and credit cards.
  2. What types of credit cards do you accept?
    Discover Card, Mastercard and Visa.
  3. What kind of financing do you offer?
    Convenient financing options available so you can buy now and pay later. The Gardiners Furniture credit card is issued with approved credit by Wells Fargo Financial National Bank. See store for details.
  4. Can I apply for credit online?
    Yes. Please click on the financing icon on the left side of the website to be directed to the financing page. From there you can click on the link to apply online with Wells Fargo.

Selecting Furniture

  1. What brands does Gardiners carry?
    Broyhill, Lane Home Furnishings, Aspen Home, Hooker, Ashley Industries, Kincaid, Clayton Marcus, Simmons USA, Legacy, Universal, Tempur-Pedic, Lea and many more.
  2. I need help picking out furniture for an entire room. Can you help?
    Yes. Any one of our in store designers would be more than glad to help you layout your room or entire house.
  3. Can I purchase this sofa in a different fabric?
    If yes, how long will it take to arrive? Most of our sofas come in hundreds of fabric covers. Special order upholstery can take 6-12 weeks to arrive.
  4. How do I tell if the furniture I'm buying is good quality?
    Open drawers and look for signs of quality, such as construction technique and joint assembly. Joint techniques like dovetailing, or dowelling are superior to others. Slide drawers in and out to determine their fit, and safety function like drawer stops. Test the piece for stability – well manufactured products are rigid, and sturdiest in areas receiving the most stress or bearing the most weight. Finally, inspect the composition and finish – is it solid wood, laminate, or is it veneer, and what kind of finish and sealant completes the piece. Do a full, top to bottom inspection of the product.
  5. What's the difference between solid wood, veneer and laminate?
    Solid Hardwood means the grain of the lumber will carry through the core. Solid hardwood allows for pieces to be carved or lathe-turned, offering more detail in the wood's presentation. Hardwood Veneers are thin slices of wood, bonded to another composite wood product like plywood or particle board. Laminates are a printed imitation hardwood surface that is applied to usually a composite wood product like particle board. This simulated wood grain or other pattern is reproduced out of paper, plastic or foil and then bonded to the base product. Because laminating is a surface treatment, this process doesn't allow for any carving or detailing in the finish and is typically more simple in appearance.
  6. What is the difference between softwoods and hardwood?
    Softwoods, such as pine, spruce and fir are from coniferous (needle bearing) trees, and are picked for their casual earthly appearance. Hardwoods such as, oak, maple, and ash come from deciduous (leaf bearing) trees, and have been used throughout history for the finest furniture and architectural detail. Most hardwoods are stronger and are less likely to dent than softwoods. Hardwoods are generally used in the construction of upholstery frames to secure nails and screws in high impact areas.

Warranty & Repair

  1. Do you repair furniture bought from another store?
    We only service furniture purchased at Gardiners Furniture.
  2. Do you repair furniture that is out of warranty?
    We repair goods that are under manufacturer's warranty only.
  3. What do I do if my furniture is damaged?
    The first thing to do is to notify our Service Department within 3 days of delivery. Detailed information can be found on your sales ticket.
  4. What if there is a problem with my furniture 5 years after I purchase it from Gardiners?
    The manufacturer's warranty dictates how long and what parts of furniture are covered. This varies depending on the manufacturer. Please consult the manufacturer's warranty for specific details.
  5. What is your cancellation and return policy?
    Orders may be cancelled within 3 days of date of purchase. After 3 days, a 25% fee will be charged on cancelled special orders. After delivery, all sales are final, no returns are allowed. For full details, please see the back of the sales ticket.

Ordering

  1. How long will it take to get my furniture?
    If it's in stock you can get it as soon our next available delivery day, or the same day if you wish to pick up yourself.
  2. How long does special order furniture take to arrive?
    Special order furniture can take 6-12 weeks to arrive.

Miscellaneous

  1. What is your policy regarding any information I give you?
    Any information collected by Gardiners Furniture on this site will not be supplied to other companies. Gardiners is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers. Visitors who sign up for our mailing list may receive periodic mailers containing information on promotional events. In the course of preparing these mailers, a visitor's address may be provided to a company distributing the mailer. This mailing organization is restricted from using any addresses we provide beyond our intended purpose.
    Visitors who provide us with an email address while registering for the mailing list may be sent periodic emails on promotional events. At any time, the recipient can be removed from this list simply by contacting us by email at webmaster@gardiners.com. Email addresses submitted in the process of any other email correspondences shall not be collected by Gardiners nor shall they be provided to any other parties unless necessary to respond to questions or resolve issues contained within the sender's message.
  2. Can I buy furniture from Gardiners online?
    Yes, we offer eCommerce on select in-stock merchandise. We are limiting online purchases to our delivery area, you can check to see if your home is in our area by clicking here. The online sale price reflects all discounts and promotions and is the final price. At this time we are unable to finance your online purchase. You will have the option to pay via credit card or pay in person at any of our stores or distribution center.
