Home Deliveries
We realize that most people do not like waiting for delivery. We have developed the below guidelines to facilitate an efficient delivery that respects the time of our customers, our delivery team and you.
Gardiner's Responsibilities
- Gardiners will deliver on the day you select according to truck availability and weather permitting.
- Gardiners will attempt to call you the evening before delivery to provide you with an estimated four hour window during which your delivery will be made. This call will also verify delivery address, phone number and pieces being delivered.
- Gardiners will unpack, prep, and place your furniture in the room you select and dispose of any packing material.
- Gardiners will assemble your furniture when it is delivered.
- Gardiners will remove the replaced bedding from your home if you purchase a set of bedding from us.
- Gardiners will attach your headboard to your frame only if you have purchased both from us.
- Gardiners will call you if you are not at the delivery location up to 15 minutes before the delivery is made if you desire. This arrangement must be made in advance when the delivery is scheduled.
- Gardiners office will attempt to call your work an home phone numbers if you are not at home when the delivery truck arrives. If we receive no answer the driver will tag your door with the date and time he was there before he leaves.
- Gardiners will make every effort to protect your carpet but minor soiling is sometimes unavoidable.
PLEASE NOTE: OSHA regulations require our drivers to wear shoes at all time while making a delivery. For insurance purposes and delivery efficiency the driver will ONLY accommodate special requests or circumstances regarding your delivery if they are arranged at the time of purchase and written on your sales order. Extraordinary deliveries such as fourth floor deliveries without an elevator, deliveries which require hoisting or furniture disassembly will be charged an additional amount based upon the amount of work required.
Customer's Responsibilities
- You must schedule your delivery in advance and provide detailed directions at the time of sale.
- The area in which the furniture is being placed must be emptied by you. You must clear a delivery path inside your home from the entrance to the area where the new furniture will be placed. This includes removing any banisters, railings, doors, etc. which impede delivery.
- You must pay any remaining balance due before you schedule delivery unless the order is previously financed. Deliveries scheduled within one week of the order date must have the balance paid in guaranteed funds. i.e. cash, certified check, credit card or money order.
- You or your adult representative must be home during the entire delivery window time frame. All pets must be restrained while your delivery is in progress.
- If for some reason you cannot be home for a scheduled delivery you must notify Gardiners 48 hours before the day of delivery or an unloading fee of $20.00 will be assessed. You must also reschedule your delivery from Gardiner's next available dates.
- You are responsible for placing and hooking up all electronic equipment in furniture you purchase from Gardiners.
- You must note any problems with your furniture on the shipping ticket. You must report any concealed damage within 3 days to the furniture repair department (410)358-1730 or on our website at www.gardiners.com.
- You must arrange for any special access with your building personnel and notify Gardiners of any restrictions or elevator usage or availability. You must remove any ice, snow or other debris from delivery driveways and walkways.
- If a Gardiners driver feels that a delivery cannot be made to the location of your choice within your home without incurring some possible property damage you will be required to sign a limited waiver before any attempt is made to deliver your furniture.
- Measurement for proper fit is your responsibility. If a piece is too large for a room or cannot be delivered due to access restrictions a delivery charge and a restocking charge may be incurred.
- Special note to hardwood floor owners: Sliding furniture on your hardwood floors will scratch or dent your floor, unless you properly protect them with felt pads of other protection devices.
